Yep, still quite busy with the day job in the week, and putting on events at the weekend...

*Should* be uploading a TONNE of stuff this week, all work-related.
I also think it's high-time i did some cute stuff, and perhaps even release some of my CD case template files...Maybe even some templates for the icons i've made... who knows...

A: No, i do not permit re-use of my work in any way, especially considering a lot of what i do is work for other people.

Q: ”Hi, i would like you to design something for me, but i don't have any money”
A: I'm sorry, i cannot work for free. Though i WILL consider designing for registered official charities and other good causes.

Q: ”what do you charge for (whatever)?"
A: I don't know, unless i get some details, i can't begin to make an estimate

Q: ”Can i upload your wallpapers / icons etc, to (whatever) website?”
A: Sorry, no. I don't permit redistribution of my work.

Q: ”Hey, i love your avatar, where did you find it?”
A: Thanks, i made it myself

Q: ”...and can i use it for (whatever)?”
A: Sorry, no.

Q: ”Can i get a copy of your CD templates?”
A: I'm sorry, no. I made all my own templates by measuring CD cases, it's easy enough to do.

Q: ”Why don't you allow people to re-use your work, even though you used free stock images to make some of them?”
A: Well, though the source images are free to use, my modifications and re-working of those stock images, in combination with other design elements makes them my property in such context. I am under no obligation to make my time and effort free to anyone who would care to use and profit from my work.

Well, been a while since I update this journal, eh!

So, i've not been around much because i've started a new job.
I now do Marketing and Design (amongst other tasks), which is actually damn good fun!
It's the first job i've ever enjoyed, and my first '

roper' design job.
So all is good there.

I'll be putting up some of the stuff i've done in the near future, when I get both time and permission to do so.

So, updates related to DeviantART...
Well...

All personal work is on hold for now (don't have time).
Skin development is on hold.

That's about the long and short of it, really.
Just don't have time right now.

SkinStudio and themes
So, I got myself SkinStudio 6 Pro yesterday, for my Vista PC, so I can convert XP .msstyles to WB skins for Vista (yes, it's possible, just google it), but I can't seem to get it working at all for me.
If anyone can help (looking at you ^mrrste), i'd really appreciate it.
There are some cracking XP styles out there, and i'd love to use some of them (just look at my recent favourites for examples) .

Anyway, this Is all I have time for, so that's me done for now.

Today i went from 2 17" CRTs running at a combined resolution of 2560x1024 pixels, to a nice new Dell 24" wide-screen TFT, and just...WOW!

I have space! I also don't need to squint at the monitors any more

I'll get a desktop screenshot up soon, so you can see what i mean (at full size).

Cost a fair bit, but well worth it.
It's also so bright it hurts! Excellent!

I've started going through my favs [link] and adding them to collections, there is some excellent stuff in there, i suggest you go have a look around.
I've not even done a third yet, going to take a while.

Anyway, go have a look around, and give the designers, artists, and photographers the praise they so richly deserve!
